Renovation of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Through a collaborative effort by Perkins + Will and a team of Mount Sinai doctors, nurses and staff, the design of the new PICU has been finalized. The new design will bring in natural light, making an innate connection between Fifth Avenue and Central Park . Construction on the first phase of the project officially began on January 6, 2011.
The renovation of the NICU will follow the completion of the PICU. Naming opportunities for donors to the PICU and NICU are still available. If interested, please contact bridget.obrien@mssm.edu .
Renovation of Pediatric Floors 4 and 5
Through the efforts of the board of The Mount Sinai Children's Center Foundation, two pediatric patient floors underwent a $2.2 million renovation in 2004. The new rooms, hallways and nurses stations are colorful, modern and cheerful, and have immeasurably improved the environment for patients, their families and our medical staff.
