The Big Apple Circus Clown Care Unit
Funded through The Mount Sinai Children's Center Foundation, laughter
specialists from the Big Apple Circus Clown Care Unit ®, a community outreach program of the Big Apple Circus, come to visit our patients three days a week, for four hours a day. They are specially selected professional performers who are trained to work in the sensitive hospital environment.

The clown doctors use parody to help demystify and simplify complicated medical procedures by performing their own, "highly technical" clown medicine including red-nose transplants, kitty "cat" scans, chocolate milk transfusions, and plate spinning platelet.
